Responding to an oral question in the House of Representatives on the additional hour, the minister specified that the issue of the Kingdom’s legal time is regulated by Royal Decree No. 455.67 promulgated on June 2, 1967, as well as Decree No. 2.18.855 of October 26, 2018, which provides for the addition of 60 minutes to legal time, with the possibility of suspending the application of this schedule if necessary.
The government, through its various departments, addresses this issue according to an institutional approach that involves respecting the specific competencies of each department, she stressed, noting that assessing the effects of this system is subject to several parameters that must be considered through a comprehensive and responsible approach, taking into account the requirements of economic integration and citizens’ expectations.
The government has accompanied this system with a series of measures, notably adapting working hours in public administrations through a flexible approach, adjusting school schedules according to territorial specificities, and strengthening coordination among the various concerned departments to ensure the continuity of public service under the best conditions, Seghrouchni noted.

It emphasizes that the permanent adoption of summer time creates a difficult balance between external economic benefits and very real internal health costs.
